Meet the local guides behind Mountain Summit Adventures – experienced mountaineers, climbers, and outdoor professionals from Makarska and Biokovo. Our team combines local knowledge, safety, and passion for nature to deliver authentic hiking and climbing experiences in Dalmatia, Croatia.
Founder & Lead Guide
Mate Klarić
Mate Klarić is the founder of Mountain Summit Adventures and the main guide for hiking,climbing, and mountain experiences in Dalmatia.
Born and raised beneath the impressive Biokovo Mountain above Makarska, Mate has spent most of his life exploring the mountains, climbing, and guiding people through the rugged landscapes of the Croatian coast. His deep connection with the mountains and passion for nature inspired him to create Mountain Summit Adventures in 2021.
Mate is a licensed mountain guide of the Croatian Mountaineering Association (Hrvatski
planinarski savez) and has completed both mountaineering school and alpine climbing
school, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in mountain safety, climbing techniques,
and guiding in demanding terrain.
He is also an active mountain rescuer with the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS)
and currently serves as the Head of the HGSS Makarska Station. Through his work ina
mountain rescue, Mate has gained years of experience in navigation, safety, and operating in
challenging mountain environments.
With his local knowledge of Biokovo Nature Park, Dalmatian mountains, and the Adriatic
landscape, Mate offers guests more than just a hike or climb. Every tour includes insights into
local history, traditional culture, mountain plants, and the unique natural environment of
the region.
His goal is simple: to give every guest an authentic, safe, and unforgettable mountain
experience in

Antonia Klarić
Antonia Klarić is an adventure guide at Mountain Summit Adventuresand an essential part of the team, bringing creativity, organization, and passion to every experience we offer.She holds a certificate for adventure tourism guiding issued by the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) and the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS), ensuring professional standards and safety in outdoor activities.
Antonia enjoys spending time in nature and has a strong passion for hiking and exploring the mountains of Biokovo and the Dalmatian region. She especially loves discovering and learning about mountain plants and flowers, which she often shares with guests during tours.As the creative force and organizational support behind Mountain Summit Adventures, Antonia plays an important role in shaping the experience for every guest, combining her love for nature with attention to detail.Together with her husband Mate, she helps create authentic and memorable outdoor experiences in Dalmatia
